Selections taken largely from contemporary poets, such as Byron, Scott, and Moore, by the daughter of Horatio Nelson and Lady Hamilton. The compiler was baptized as Horatia Nelson Thompson but was later permitted by royal license to change her name to Horatia Nelson Nelson (cf. Complete Peerage IX. 463, n.(b).).
